David Wiley – President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Wiley founded Phoenix in 2004 and has served as a Director and CEO of the Company since that time.  Before joining Phoenix, from February 2002 to August 2004, Mr. Wiley was a Managing Director with MHI Energy Partners, an energy private equity fund that invests in oil and gas, coal, and energy technologies.  Prior to MHI Energy Partners, he served as Chief Investment Officer of Labrador Capital Management LLC, an investment firm that he co-founded in 1996 to advise a New York based hedge fund.  Mr. Wiley has over 16 years of experience as an entrepreneur, executive manager and portfolio manager.

Dustin Angelo, CPA – Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Angelo has served as CFO of Phoenix since August 2006.  Prior to joining Phoenix, Mr. Angelo was a Vice President for one year with MHI Energy Partners, an energy private equity fund that invests in oil and gas, coal, and energy technologies.  From 1997 to 2005, he was a Principal at Waller Capital Corporation in New York City, a boutique investment bank focused on mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Angelo earned a BSBA in Accounting and International Business from Georgetown University in 1996 and a MBA from the Columbia Business School in 2005. Mr. Angelo is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in Kentucky.

Mathew Haaga – Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Haaga has served as the COO of Phoenix since May 2007.  Prior to joining Phoenix, Mr. Haaga worked as a private mining and management consultant for four years.  His clients included UK Coal, Alpha Natural Resources, Cleveland Potash and Joy Mining Machinery.  Mr. Haaga has 28 years of coal industry experience, having served in a variety of engineering, operations and senior management roles at Peabody Energy and Black Beauty Coal Co.  He received a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Kentucky in 1978.

Danny Wooton – Sr. Vice President, Operations

Mr. Wooton has more than 30 years of experience in the coal industry, including 27 years in the Illinois Basin.  His experience has been spread between underground mining, mine construction and coal terminaling.  Prior to joining Phoenix, Mr. Wooton was Director of Operations for Kinder Morgan Terminals, where he managed rail-to-barge terminals that blended and loaded 18 million tons per year of Powder River Basin and Illinois Basin coals.  Mr. Wooton also has 25 years of experience with Alliance Resource Partners, LP as General Manager of the Central Region.

Jeff Hayden – Sr. Vice President, Engineering

Mr. Hayden has more than 22 years of experience in the coal industry, primarily in the Illinois Basin.  Prior to joining Phoenix, Mr. Hayden was Director of Operations/Maintenance for Covol Engineered Fuels, where he performed planning, resource deployment, equipment sourcing and maintenance training for new and existing fine coal cleaning facilities.   Mr. Hayden also has 14 years of experience with Alliance Resource Partners, LP as General Manager of certain coal producing properties.
